The CASS Manager is responsible to the Director of Quality for the administration of the reliability program. The Manager must hold a valid A&P certificate and have at least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanic on transport category aircraft. The CASS Manager should have training or experience in systems analysis, auditing, risk assessment and management, root cause analysis and human factors and have a working knowledge of the CASS process.

Duties and responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for the development, analysis and evaluation of information relating to aircraft, engines, and components in accordance with the 21 Air CASS Manual.
  • Collect and prepare monthly reliability report as part of the CASS program (required CASS Team member).
  • Validates aircraft flight times and cycles entered the maintenance tracking and forecasting computer program.
  • Reviews and investigates pertinent data pertaining to aircraft, engines, and component reliability. Provides technical evaluation and recommendations to resolve adverse trends and chronic maintenance problems.
  • Review vendor and shop component findings, as necessary, to detect adverse reliability trends.
  • Performs reviews and inspections of log pages and completed maintenance work packages.
  • Periodically review the maintenance duty time roster to ensure compliance with FAR 121.377
  • Audits as necessary per 21 Air CASS Manual. When audits are performed on the Training or Quality Departments per the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) Manual, the CASS Manager will report to the Director, Safety and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Performs surveillance of 21 Air concerning the time control records to ensure that no item will exceed its approved limitations
  • Maintains liaison with manufactures service representatives and repair agencies to scrutinize reports of recurring failures or deficiencies and to develop, with the concurrence of the Director, Quality, recommendations for the improvement of service history accordingly.
  • Provides agencies with and directs them in the correct application of manuals and techniques.
  • Perform surveillance of calibrated tooling and records on all inspection tools and test equipment used by the maintenance and inspection departments.
  • Recommend tooling calibration intervals to the CASS Team and coordinates with the tooling manufacturer when required to establish calibration intervals for newly acquired tooling.
  • Organize and maintain Internal Audits in and electronic database on the company intra-net.
  • Organize and maintain Vendor Audits and recurrent requirements in an electronic database on the company intranet.
  • Notify the Director of Quality of repetitive audit requirements by e-mail a minimum of 30 days prior to the due date.
  • Performs data gathering, root cause analysis (RCA), and risk assessment (RA) for CASS reporting.
  • Completes RCA/RA forms IAW the CASS manual.
  • Completes monthly reports and suggested corrective actions as directed by the CASS manual.
  • Performs follow up actions on audits and implemented corrective actions.
  • Setup and maintain an electronic database for employee experience requirements under FAR 65.83.
  • When required responsibilities of an Auditor/Trainer position.
  • Review FAR required reports (MIR, SOR, etc.) to ensure accuracy and timely submissions.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed in other company manuals such as the Fueling and CASS Manuals.
  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to achieve company objectives.
