ANCILLARY PATIENT SERVICE REP FULL-TIME - CROWN POINT LOCATION Powers Health and Northwest Cancer Centers are pleased to announce their collaboration in a new, state-of-the art cancer center in Crown Point. The Cancer Care Center, slated to open in summer 2025, will serve as a regional destination and convenient location for patients with cancer to receive exceptional care. POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY On a local level, provides financial and insurance services support to the Radiation Oncology Department patients and staff.# Uses personal computer applications and other software to create appropriate reports and documentation within the system.# Organizes, updates insurance information, and associated documents for the Radiation Oncology Departments.# Handles confidential department and medical staff information. Assists with clerical procedures and documentation related to in-patient and outpatient operations. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: # High School graduate or equivalent required. # Certification as an Indiana Certified Navigator preferred. # Supplementary commercial school/college course in typing, computer technology, medical terminology are desirable. # Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and an Enterprise Health Information System required. # One year experience or better experience working as a financial counselor or equivalent, including having knowledge of pre-certification, collections, insurances, managed care agreements and benefit verification. # Knowledge of Indiana Medicaid, welfare and self-pay regulations. # Must be able to maintain a high level of initiative, dependability and motivation. Displays a professional demeanor with patients and staff. Communicates effectively. # Must use independent judgment to maintain department standards, state and federal regulations. # Must be able to work in a professional atmosphere and maintain a cooperative attitude.
