Job Description:
Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following:
- Design low voltage power distribution systems.
- Prepare single line diagrams and wiring diagrams under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Coordinate design with other disciplines (i.e., civil, architectural, mechanical, structural, etc.)
- Adhere to Parsons policy for accurate project documentation for project files.
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
- Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality take-offs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Prepare detailed requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials.
- Size conduit, conductors and overcurrent protection devices per the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.
- Prepare and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Perform field surveys and collect required data as per project needs.
Required Skills:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college. (Third party evaluation of ABET equivalency may be accepted.)
- 8 years of electrical design related experience in low voltage power distribution systems, data centre design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection and Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS).
- Must be able to pass government background check.
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours and schedule.
- Green card or US citizenship required.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred.
- Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures.
- Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions.
- Previous experience with lightning and grounding protection.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam.
- Proficiency in SKM and the ability to perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
