Job Description :
Knowledge, skills, education, and / or experience :
Possession of a specific Bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental Science or related field with twelve (12) semester hours in computer mapping / GIS which shall include spatial programming and digital image processing.

All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university. All foreign degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting
Mandatory skills / certification(s) Requirement :
A thorough knowledge of ESRI ArcPro and ArcGIS Online. Familiarity with using and maintaining spreadsheet data software such as Microsoft Excel.
Desired skills :
Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in creating / managing AGO applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder; working with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle and / or PostgreSQL, and knowledge of Python, Arcade, VBA and / or Visual Studio programming languages. Knowledge of CAD workflow processes and Adobe Acrobat Reader (and / or Adobe Acrobat Pro) helpful, but not necessary.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Job duties will include creation and maintenance of Watershed and Land Management Program GIS Data Layers that can be viewed by the public as well as internal staff in AGO mapping applications, including Story Maps.
The information for these layers will be from both spatial and non-spatial digital data, hard-copy historic maps, permit and approval applications, and aerial photography in support of the Program's mission to manage lands and waters in the State.
This work can include geo-referencing scanned maps and aerial photography; feature identification, classification, and enhancement; area calculations and spatial analysis on both raster and vector data.
May conduct GIS research to assist in support of online permit application reviews conducted by WLM staff. Responsibilities may include hardware and software support as needed, including user assistance for system users.
