What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Specialist position at Biogensys?
We are hiring a GIS Specialist for one of our clients in Trenton, NJ.
Job Description :
- Job duties will include creation and maintenance of Watershed and Land Management Program GIS Data Layers that can be viewed by the public as well as internal staff in AGO mapping applications, including Story Maps.
- The information for these layers will be from both spatial and non-spatial digital data, hard-copy historic maps, permit and approval applications, and aerial photography in support of the Program's mission to manage lands and waters in the State.
- This work can include geo-referencing scanned maps and aerial photography; feature identification, classification, and enhancement; area calculations and spatial analysis on both raster and vector data.
- May conduct GIS research to assist in support of online permit application reviews conducted by WLM staff.
- Responsibilities may include hardware and software support as needed, including user assistance for system users.
