Our client, a renowned Fashion Group specializing in designing and manufacturing diverse clothing lines—from bridal gowns to custom-branded corporate uniforms, as well as specialty limited-edition ready-to-wear collections and accessories—is seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join their team.
This is a full-time, on-site position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and innovative fashion environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain fit and grading standards for the brand and client programs.
Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to ensure fit and aesthetic alignment throughout the sampling and approval process.
Ensure specifications and construction standards are clearly communicated to vendors and factories, maintaining consistency in fit and quality.
Troubleshoot construction, fit, grading, and pattern issues with overseas vendors, leveraging clear communication to identify optimal solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Support project and production management functions as required by the company.
Self-manage workload, prioritizing tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Proficient in documenting production-friendly garment construction for complex designs.
Advanced knowledge of PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator.
Expertise in cross-category grading management, fitting, and pattern development.
Strong understanding of garment construction from prototype to production, including fit balance and detail accuracy.
Ability to lead fittings, ensuring adherence to specifications and construction standards through all sample rounds.
Skilled in creating precise tech packs for overseas sample rooms and production teams.
Experience developing pattern blocks for various target fits, with the ability to review and approve patterns and graded size sets.
Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams, production partners, and vendors to deliver cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
Demonstrated ability to stay updated on market trends, styling innovations, and construction techniques relevant to products.
Requirements
5 years of experience in men’s and women’s apparel.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator.
Strong background in product engineering and patternmaking (required).
Experience working effectively in multicultural environments.
Independent thinker and proactive problem-solver, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to adhere to development and production calendars while addressing exceptions and delays in a timely manner.
