Job purpose
The Day Porter in Janitorial Services will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operational duties within our facility. Primary responsibilities include the upkeep of communal spaces, maintenance of office suites, timely replenishment of restroom supplies, and prompt response to cleaning emergencies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, unwavering dedication, and the ability to proficiently manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
Duties and responsibilities
- Empty waste baskets and replace liners.
- Dust/clean tops of office furniture, tabletops, chairs, blinds, etc.
- Vacuum all carpeting, floors & spot clean daily.
- General restroom cleaning includes toilets, urinals, floors, and sinks.
- Clean all glass windows within reach.
- Sweep and mop tiled areas.
- Spot-clean walls, partitions, and doors.
- Refill all restroom dispensers as needed.
- Maintain the janitor’s closet neat and orderly.
- Always maintain and clean equipment (such as vacuums and housekeeping cart).
- Clean with floor scrubbing machine hard floors in the building common areas. (where there’s existing hard floors)
- When applicable, place safety hazard signs and wet floor warning signs as needed.
- Clean elevators floors, floors track and polish stainless steel areas in a daily basis. Notify management of repairs needed.
- Monitor, clean, and service washrooms.
- Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises.
- Remove litter and rubbish as needed.
- Clean assigned areas as per schedule
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- High school Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
- Experience in Housekeeping, Janitorial services, Custodial, and commercial cleaning industry
- Friendly demeanor
- Must maintain a clean/ neat appearance.
- Must be able to lift, pull, and push approximately 30 pounds.
- Available for weekday shift
Working conditions
- Repetitive motion daily includes, but is not limited to bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and squatting.
Physical requirements
- May require the occasional ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
