Job Title: Set-Up Mechanic
Location: Azusa, CA
Salary Range: $25-32/hr
Reports to: Engineering / Maintenance Manager
About Us:
We are a personal care, beauty, and OTC drug products formulator and contract manufacturer/packager, and are seeking a first-shift Set-Up Mechanic. This role provides technical line set-ups to support and ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and product quality for the filling and packaging equipment in our Azusa, California plant operations. We operate in a highly customer-focused, high variety, fast-paced, short-run, quick-changeover environment.
Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on mechanical knowledge of liquid filling equipment, tube filling lines, and labeling application equipment.
- Experience with equipment such as Norden tube fillers, rotary fillers, in-line and piston fillers, capping machines, video jet ink systems, shrink sleeve, and labeling equipment.
- Ability to work effectively on both team and individual assignments.
- Experience organizing change parts and tooling for effective "Quick Changeovers."
- Equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Flexibility to work special schedules as required to meet job demands.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) reading and writing skills are highly desired.
- Basic mathematical skills and the ability to communicate and work with non-technical production staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required to support production.
- Willingness to learn new skills and complete assigned training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the set-up and maintenance of filling and packaging equipment.
- Ensure that production lines are ready to start on time as instructed by the Department Manager.
- Perform equipment set-ups correctly and quickly, following set-up sheets to meet quality and efficiency standards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, modifications, and repairs as instructed by the Department Manager.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems and have the skills to read and understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
- Exchange information with team members and management daily.
- Comply with company safety rules, standard operating procedures, and GMP guidelines.
