The 2nd 25th Judicial District Community Supervision & Corrections Department serving Lavaca, Gonzales and Colorado Counties is seeking to hire a Juvenile Probation Officer that will serve Lavaca County (located in Hallettsville, Tx). A bachelor's degree is required with a concentration in Criminal Justice and any relevant experience. One year of experience in full-time case work, counseling or community or group work as outlined in Texas Administrative Code 344.210 or 1 year of graduate study as defined by the Texas Human Resources Code 141.061 (a) (3) (A), is preferred. Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with juveniles to assess their needs and risks.
- Develop and implement case management plans for each juvenile under supervision.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with court orders.
- Manage crisis situations effectively while maintaining a focus on rehabilitation.
- Write detailed reports on juvenile progress and interactions for case documentation.
- Provide social work support and resources to juveniles and their families as needed.
