Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living environments and possess a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with dementia and autism. This role requires physical stamina for heavy lifting, as well as the ability to perform various caregiving tasks with empathy and professionalism.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation and cooking.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring the health and safety of clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed, following proper protocols.
- Support individuals with dementia or autism through engaging activities and companionship.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies, utilizing first aid and CPR skills when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in assisted living settings.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with autism.
