Position Summary
- Supports the environmental health and safety functions by developing, implementing, training, and monitoring safety protocols throughout all departments, including remote locations such as our log yard, manufacturing facility in Wisconsin and additional sites to be determined.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Practice safe working techniques, review and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company to ensure the facilities are properly meeting these guidelines
- Develop, maintain and communicate written safety policies and programs
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at all levels to ensure a common and effective approach through site, plant and PPE walkthroughs and inspections
- Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness
- Maintain and update as needed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all safe work practices and equipment, utilizing them in the day-to-day training
- Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working
- Develop, distribute, log, and document tailored safety trainings and utilize varied methods to enhance safety awareness and education
- Perform and contribute to any training plans by conducting employee orientations, emergency response training, and coordination of other safety programs for the operation, such as Lock-Out Tag-Out.
- Schedule, chair, record and communicate minutes for team driven safety committee
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected
- Perform and maintain all environmental testing and regulatory activities in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Perform accident investigations to prepare detailed reports of on-site accidents, identify causes and track corrective actions that need to be taken for future prevention
- Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions
- Stays abreast on changes in legislation and safety standards
- Maintain a through current knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA and FMSCA
- Maintain an organized, up-to-date, safety library to include required SDS documents and job hazard analysis
- Maintain safety supply stock, working with vendors, and attaining multiple quotes to order safety supplies
- Organize initiatives and ensure policies and new initiatives are completed and implemented in a timely fashion
- Assist with the planning, conducting and maintenance of other various safety training programs and manuals with the human resources division.

Work Environment

He or she is in a safety sensitive position where driving a company vehicle may be necessary at times The pre- employment drug test will be coordinated by the recruitment company. Costs for short-term disability, life insurance, critical illness, and accident varies per individual. Enrollment year is November 1st through October 31.

STANDARD EXPENSES THE COMPANY WILL BE PAYING FOR DURING THE VISA PROCESSING:
1- TN Visa Application. oReimbursement of the Consular Appointment Fee of up to $185 if approved and once you have worked 90 days. oReimbursement of the Reciprocity Fee of up to $382 that is charged after your Visa is approved and once you have worked 90 days. The employer will reimburse the expenses after a period of 3 months upon start of employment, and the employee must be in good standing. Also, employees must turn in receipts upon arrival.
