About The Role:
Arbor Homes, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is currently looking to hire a Director of Employee Development and Engagement to sit out of our corporate office in Indianapolis, IN. As a director, you will actively lead projects focused on aligning learning and development solutions with business priorities. Your goal will be to ensure employees are receiving the appropriate training to grow their leadership skills and overall personal development to further their career. The Director of Employee Development and Engagement will also lead, develop, organize and execute an effective employee engagement strategy in partnership with key stakeholders.

What Will You Be Doing?
- Design and execute learning and development strategies in collaboration with the Chief Business Development Officer, senior leaders and key stakeholders
- Lead and manage the Arbor Leadership Academy program across all business units and locations
- Work closely with department heads and managers to identify high potential employees and coordinate the placement of those individuals into the appropriate development curriculum
- Partner with external vendors to insure appropriate curriculum and alignment with company growth and leadership traits
- Garner feedback from program participants on curriculum, trainers and overall satisfaction with the program
- Provide quarterly updates to the Strategy Team on progress of the program and current participants
- Plan employee events, culture-building and dynamic team building activities to engage employees and bolster work performance
- Garner feedback on events via surveys and/or focus groups and utilize feedback results to guide future events
- Use employee engagement data to meaningfully improve the daily work experience and drive culture across all business units and locations
- Monitor employee retention through focus groups and employee surveys to determine what is driving and what may be hurting company culture
- Support philanthropic events and activities
- Publish a quarterly newsletter that highlights accomplishments (individual and company) and company initiatives and upcoming events
What Will You Bring?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Training & Development, Human Resources, Business or any related field, or an equivalent of the same working experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in training & development and/or engagement
- Experience in content creation, maintenance of training processes and the successful development of ongoing training and development programs is preferred
- Demonstrated consultative approach: excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all levels
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources in order to identify themes and develop compelling recommendations
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Must have ability to prioritize tasks completing multiple tasks in a timely manner, be flexible and welcoming change, and be self-motivated
- Must demonstrate courage, passion and drive that aligns the company vision
- Ability to connect with a diverse group of individuals
- Some travel may be required
