Job Summary: The Accountant, Nuvotronics (a division under Cubic Corporation), is a valued contributor to the accounting and reporting process. Supports Nuvotronics business by preparing invoices for submission to customers and recording invoices. Helps to maintain the accuracy of the entity’s related books of record such as the general ledger, sales journal, fixed asset ledger, and cash receipts. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. This is a hybrid position in Durham, NC with 3 days weekly on-site, 9/80 work schedule. #LI-hybrid
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generates government and commercial customer billings as per contract/sales order requirements.
- Maintains accounts receivable ledger and take actions to ensure timely cash receipts
- General ledger maintenance activities – customer account setup, cash application, billing milestone modifications etc.
- Reconciles bank balance with general ledger cash account details
- Communicates with Treasury on forecasted cash balances
- Supports month-end close by completing journal entries & general ledger account reconciliations
- Performs ad hoc reporting requests in support of other departments
- Assists with internal and government audit requests
- Supports accounts payable shared services as needed (reconciling cleared checks, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Posts and reconciles weekly timecards for submission to Payroll
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline plus a minimum of one year of general accounting experience or a two-year college degree, plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience working with an ERP system. Good written and oral communication skills. Detail oriented and able to perform duties with high degree of accuracy. Able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects. Must be a US citizen who is eligible to work at a DoD cleared facility.

Cubic Pay Range:
$65,000 – $85,164 benefits.
