2025 Pay Range : $57,200 to $85,800 Annually. The starting range for this role is $57,200 to $65,000.

About Us
Evergreen Fire / Rescue, founded in 1948, provides around the clock emergency medical, rescue, and fire suppression along with community risk reduction services to nearly 26,000 residents across more than 125 square miles. Led by a Fire Chief and the Board of Directors of the Evergreen Fire Protection District, EFR consists of six divisions : Administration, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Operations, Community Risk Reduction, Maintenance, and Wildland. About the Position
This is a mechanic position in the maintenance and repair of automotive and life safety equipment. Work involves servicing and repairing automotive and life safety related equipment. Considerable independence in task and accomplishment is expected.
Knowledge required for success :
- The operating principles of internal combustion, diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drive train components and of the standard mechanical components of related equipment, their maintenance and repair.
- All systems within a power plant including cooling, lubrication, fuel delivery, governor and mechanical components.
- The removal and installation procedures required to repair, drive train, drive shaft, pump, generator components and assemblies, their construction and control.
- The specialized equipment used for gas detection and the maintenance / certification of the equipment to provide safe operation at all times.
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions of heavy equipment repair work and large-scale shop operations including appropriate lifting methods
Skills required for success :
drive train systems including clutches, automatic transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials; suspensions systems for leaf and coil spring, pneumatic, and rubber isolated; hydraulic pumps, manual and hydraulic assisted steering gears, associated gear parts, and mounting of steering systems; hydraulic, pneumatic air over hydraulic, vacuum over hydraulic, disc, drum, anti-lock, and combination brake systems.
