RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE

  • Maintain accurate and precise records, to include but not limited to instrument calibration, laboratory data, maintenance activities, SQS programs, SQS KPI’s and laboratory inventory
  • Conduct various types of analysis on product (water, raw materials, in process liquid, finished liquid)
  • Conduct various types of analytical instrumentation runs, data interpretation, professional reports, and maintenance activities
  • Support and Promote ISO, GMP, HACCP, PST/RCA and 5S
  • Provide authorization for EHS work permits
  • Write/Review/Update procedures and train other personnel on new techniques including but not limited to forklift training, confined space
  • Perform independent math and some statistical calculations for projects, records and reports
  • Provide recommendations based on conclusions determined from analysis performed in the laboratory
  • Provide analytical assistance with Research and Development projects
  • Maintain raw material and finished product retain systems
  • Identify and inform management of compliance issues, SQS risk and improvement opportunities through regular audits
  • Provide quality support to all areas, including conducting investigations, risk assessments and implementing of QESH systems.
  • Coordinate with emergency coordinator for compliance in the emergency action plan and be initial site contact for incidents or regulatory management
  • Maintain and manage chemicals as well as accumulation storage areas onsite
  • Coordinate with Pest control provider to ensure all areas are maintained
  • Support with DOT shipments
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or requested

  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Must posses and apply strong communication, documentation and organizational skills
  • A working understanding of good general laboratory practices and laboratory safety practices
  • Self-motived and dependable and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to handle stressful, fast-paced, rapidly changing environments
  • Ability to effectively conduct training and education for employees and contract personnel.  Model behaviours to promote a safe work environment and proactively address behaviours that are not aligned with our requirements.
  • Employee must be willing to wear protective glasses, high-visibility vests, gloves, back support, hearing protection safety toed shoes, and other common PPE including hair covering as necessary

EXTERNAL QUALIFICATIONSDEGREE, CERTIFICATION, ADDITIONAL TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry/Biology preferred or equivalent experience
  • 2 years’ experience Laboratory Quality Assurance environment and/or manufacturing experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • HACCP Certification preferred
  • OSHA 30 hour or willing to complete within the first year of the role
  • ISO Lead Auditor certification or training completed in the last three years or complete within the first year of the role
  • Hazmat certification or willing to complete within the first year of the role
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs and perform repetitive work actions
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment and outdoors as needed
  • Ability to Stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to get First Responder and First Aid Certified
