Position Title: Pool Attendant/Grounds person @ Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Position Overview:
The Pool Attendant/Grounds person is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for guests at the hotel's pool area & exterior grounds of the property. They ensure compliance with pool rules and regulations, provide assistance to guests, and perform routine maintenance tasks to uphold the quality standards of the hotel.
Job Functions:

Guest Assistance:
- Welcome guests to the pool area and provide information about pool rules, hours of operation, and amenities.
- Assist guests with locating lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels, and other poolside amenities.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a courteous and helpful manner.

Pool Safety:
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of guests.
- Monitor pool activity and behavior to prevent accidents, injuries, or conflicts.
- Perform regular checks of pool water quality and temperature to maintain optimal conditions for swimming.
- Maintain vigilance over the pool area to identify potential hazards or unsafe conditions.

Pool Maintenance:
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of the pool area.
- Skim the pool surface to remove debris, empty trash receptacles, and clean poolside furniture.
- Test pool water chemistry and adjust chemical levels as needed to meet safety standards.

Guest Engagement:
- Interact with guests in a friendly and engaging manner, offering assistance and recommendations as needed.
- Coordinate poolside activities, games, or events to enhance the guest experience as directed by management
- Promote hotel amenities, food and beverage services, and special offers to guests.

Equipment Care:
- Maintain and organize pool equipment, including life-saving devices, pool cleaning tools, and safety signage.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management for prompt repair or replacement.
- Ensure that all pool equipment is stored securely and in compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications:
- Certified lifeguard with current CPR and first aid certifications.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard, pool attendant, or in a related role (preferred).
- Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water safety techniques.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks in outdoor conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
