POSITION TITLE: Transportation Supervisor
POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt- Full Time
PAY STRUCTURE: Hourly Range ($20.00-$22.00)
REPORT TO: Director of Operations- Developmental Disabilities Service Division
AGENCY DESCRIPTION:
360 Community Services, a Nebraska DHHS-certified provider, offers specialized community-based programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on personalized habilitation plans to promote skills and independence.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Transportation Supervisor oversees safe and timely transportation for adult day service members with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include managing routes, staffing, fleet operations, and compliance, while driving AM (6:458:30) and PM (2:454:30) routes to maintain full-time status. Candidates must have a clean driving record, transportation experience in similar settings, and supervisory skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Route Management
- Oversee route assignments using software to optimize efficiency.
- Assign 23 staff per route (driver and monitor(s)) based on member needs.
- Adjust routes daily for absences, new admissions, or staffing changes.
- Maximize van capacity while minimizing member travel time.
- Run reports to audit route compliance and safety.
- Notify Director if additional vans are needed.
2.Fleet Oversight
- Manage vehicle maintenance, registration, and insurance renewals.
- Arrange rental vehicles for extended repairs.
- Ensure daily fueling, pre-route inspections (fluids, tires, lights), and cleaning.
- Schedule monthly detailing and maintain real-time maintenance logs.
- Ensure DMV and DOT compliance.
3. Supervision/ Training
- Supervise Transportation Drivers: conduct interviews, manage schedules, approve time-off and timesheets, hold monthly meetings, and address concerns.
- Train all Day Habilitation Center staff on:
- Manage vehicle maintenance, registration, and insurance renewals.
- Safe transportation policies
- Wheelchair lift and secure strap use
- Field driving exams
- Call-in procedures
- Safe transport of members and employees
4. Driving Duties
- Drive AM (6:458:30) and PM (2:454:30) routes to/from the Day Habilitation Center.
- Comply with job functions outlines in the Transportation Driver -Job Description
5.Reporting Requirements
- Immediately report to the Director
- Staff license suspensions/revocations or moving violations
- Vehicle accidents, damage, or conditions/medications affecting safe operation
- Complete incident reports promptly
6. Other Duties as Assigned
- Works collaboratively with the Director on special projects related to transportation and/or Van Upkeep.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
- Valid drivers license and clean DMV record (no violations in 3 years).
- 3 years of transportation/fleet management experience.
- Prior work in community-based adult day services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to bend, lift and carry objects of varying size weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while operating a motor vehicle
SCHEDULE:
- MondayFriday, split shift: 6:00 AM10:00 AM, 1:00 PM5:00 PM (no weekends/holidays).
- AM Route: 6:458:30 AM; PM Route: 2:454:30 PM.
- Fleet maintenance/training between routes.
- Must be available for early morning/evening schedule adjustments.
