JOB SUMMARY
As a Process Automation Tech, you will perform many tasks related to creating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the control software in our AirSCWO systems. You will work closely with a Senior Controls Engineer.:You will develop a hands-on understanding of 374Water’s AirSCWO process and contribute to its continual improvement. You will be part of a growing engineering team and will work closely with 374Water’s Operations team, and AirSCWO system end-users. To be a successful candidate, you must have experience designing and working in an industrial startup environment. You should enjoy digging into field issues, troubleshooting problems with code and communications under time pressure, and the dynamics (inputs and responses) of the AirSCWO process.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create and maintain Human Machine Interface (HMI) displays using FactoryTalk View SE or equivalent
- Integrate software components into the control system using scripts
- Perform I/O checks and bump tests in collaboration with Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers on site
- Capture opportunities to automate operator decisions and mistake-proof startup and shutdown protocols
- Serve “on call” during startup and commissioning, if not onsite
- Maintain and document software configuration control
WHO YOU ARE
Basic qualifications:
- Associate degree in Applied Science or Electronics
- 1 yr experience in water/wastewater industry or similar chemical process industry
- 3 yrs experience working as a controls engineer in a process industry with PLC / DCS architecture, with a track record of troubleshooting issues / failures on short time scales
- Experience with Allen Bradley controls software (especially Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View) is an advantage
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorship available.

- Some knowledge of material science and metallurgy preferred
- Hands-on experience with tinkering around valves, instrumentation,
- pumps, in an industrial or laboratory environment preferred, but not
- required.
