Opportunities for either full-time, or part-time, seasonal positions as a Maintenance Technician focused on three market-rate high rise apartment buildings in the bustling Downtown Milwaukee area. This role is ideal for students on summer break who have an interest in the trades or property management, and will focus on duties related to apartment building turnover during the busy season, readying both the building facilities and apartment units for new residents. Duties will focus on painting, cleaning, inventory and set-up of furniture, and basic maintenance tasks as part of the turn checklist. The turn technician reports to the Property Manager and works directly with onsite team members to ensure the success of the property’s overall performance towards delivering exceptional living experiences for its community residents.

Position requires ability to transverse the property on foot, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, work on a ladder or elevated platform, and use cleaning and painting supplies. Must be able to communicate, orally and in writing, with residential tenants, supervisors and co-workers. Typical full-time schedules will be Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, but position will require flexibility to work on Sundays and/or Mondays, with notice, when move-ins and move-outs are scheduled to occur.

Part-time/Seasonal schedules may vary dependent upon business needs.

Your Mission

  • Assist with residential building turnover and providing support to Property Management and Maintenance staff, as well as external vendors (paint, pest control, carpeting, etc.), as needed.
  • Prepare apartment spaces for new residents, which will include maintenance checks, cleaning, and furniture relocation as needed
  • Ensure building(s) and premises are always maintained in pristine condition and reports needed repairs, safety hazards and conditions that could require the work of outside vendors.
  • Provide support to maintenance staff on completion of work orders for existing or new residents
  • Work closely with Property Management team to support move-in and move-out procedures
  • Must be willing and able to perform all property maintenance tasks as needed, including, but not limited to: cleaning of units, routine maintenance checks, drywall patching and painting, basic groundskeeping duties, trash removal, and provide strong customer service to residents.
  • Other duties, errands, and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to lift/move (up to) 50 lbs.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
