Position Overview:
The HSE Representative/Coordinator will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations for the companys casing crew operations. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in drilling rig or casing crew work and will be responsible for managing the HSE program, conducting field audits, facilitating safety meetings, and collecting safety data. This individual will actively work with the operations team to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all personnel on job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Program Management:
Oversee and maintain the companys HSE programs, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment on casing crew job sites.
Develop and update risk assessments, JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses), and safe work procedures for field operations.
Weekly Field Audits:
Conduct regular field audits of employees and job sites, ensuring HSE practices are being adhered to and identifying potential hazards.
Provide feedback and corrective actions for any safety deficiencies or non-compliance found during audits.
Liaise with crew members and supervisors to address safety concerns and provide guidance on best practices.
Safety Meetings:
Lead and facilitate regular safety meetings for field personnel, focusing on site-specific hazards, safety procedures, and accident prevention.
Ensure safety meetings are documented and that all attendees are actively engaged in promoting a culture of safety.
Conduct pre-job safety orientations for crews working on different job sites, ensuring they are aware of all potential risks and safety protocols.
Safety Data Collection & Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and maintain safety data (e.g., incident reports, near misses, injury/illness logs) to identify trends and areas of improvement.
Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommendations for improvement.
Work closely with the HSE Manager to track and report on safety performance metrics, making recommendations to continuously improve safety programs.
Training & Development:
Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs for field personnel.
Ensure that all personnel are properly trained and certified in accordance with industry regulations and company standards.
Monitor employee performance and identify areas where additional safety training or resources may be required.
Emergency Response:
Be an active participant in emergency response planning and execution for field operations, ensuring personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
Coordinate and lead incident investigations for accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are taken.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in drilling rig operations or casing crew work, with a solid understanding of the hazards and safety requirements of such environments.
Previous experience in HSE roles with a focus on field audits, safety program management, and training.
Education/Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field is a plus).
OSHA 30-hour certification or similar safety certifications.
First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety reporting software.
