POSITION PURPOSE
Manages and/or provides maintenance and custodial services to grounds and buildings of Holy Rosary and St. Thomas More to enhance the image of the parishes, and to provide a suitable and healthy environment for building occupants.
I. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes work priorities with supervisor and provides training and work direction to helpers, volunteers, and/or janitorial firms or vendors.
- Diagnose problems and complete repairs or facilitate volunteers completing work to insure good stewardship of buildings and grounds.
- Assures preventive maintenance to buildings and grounds to minimize plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating and air conditioning system failures. Calls in and supervises work of professional contractors and vendors as needed.
- Collaborates with supervisor and principals, serving as a member of both campus Safety Committees. Keeps the Safety Boards current and up to date. Attends Custodial, Safety and Facilities trainings as directed and maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this position.
- Represent the parish when dealing with outside contractors in all major maintenance, construction and minor renovation projects. Works with contractors in bid process on maintenance projects in conjunction with supervisor.
- Manage access system and security gates to insure proper function.
- Open to work outside regular hours in cases of emergencies.
III. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with parish and school support staff to insure regular floor cleaning of the Church, School, Parish Office, and other buildings and storage areas; assures order and neatness as appropriate.
- Work with landscaping contractors to insure shrubbery and grounds are pruned and well kept.
- Assure set-up for scheduled meetings and events.
- Assure spot cleaning and supplies for parish bathrooms as needed, replacement of light bulbs as needed and emptying of garbage/recycle throughout the facility as needed.
- Work with supervisor to assure attention to and completion of Annual/Monthly Maintenance Schedule. Which should include monthly cleaning and maintenance of Baptismal Font; monthly check and cleaning of kitchen and bathroom exhaust fan grills, outside storm drains, gutters and downspouts.
- Assures that facilities are clean after events and ready for next use.
- Manages permits and inspections for the building
Qualifications
Parish Family 11, St. Thomas More (Lynnwood) and Holy Rosary (Edmonds), is looking for a shared Facilities Coordinator. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of preventative maintenance, as well as able to troubleshoot issues and complete basic repairs. This role requires strong organization and the ability to manage multiple projects between two campuses.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.

Salary : $68,000 - $75,000
