Position: Accounting Manager
Location: Hybrid- Must reside in CT or MA and be willing to be onsite at office in Essex, CT 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to guide strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimize efficiency.
- Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and customer-centric approach.
