Job Overview:
The Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Plan Reviewer is responsible for reviewing and evaluating mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems' designs and plans to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. This role ensures that all mechanical, plumbing, and electrical aspects of construction projects are designed for safety, efficiency, and reliability while meeting local, state, and federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical Plans:
- Analyze and evaluate mechanical, plumbing, and electrical system designs to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Review system layouts, equipment specifications, and installation details to verify that all components meet safety and performance requirements.
- Provide feedback to design teams about any necessary adjustments or revisions for compliance with codes or best practices.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with updates to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical codes, including local, state, and national standards (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, International Plumbing Code).
- Ensure that designs comply with energy efficiency and sustainability standards, where applicable (e.g., LEED, green building codes).
- Verify that the designs meet safety and environmental requirements to prevent risks such as fire, electrical hazards, or water damage.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work directly with architects, engineers, contractors, and developers to review designs and recommend adjustments.
- Serve as a key point of contact for issues related to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems during the design and permitting stages.
- Provide technical guidance to other departments or stakeholders regarding the implementation of codes and regulations.
4.Permit Review and Issuance:
- Review submitted mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans for building permit applications to ensure that all required documents and details are complete and accurate.
- Assess plans to determine whether they meet all local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Recommend the approval, revision, or denial of building permits based on the review findings.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience (Municipal & Design)
- Commercial project experience including industrial
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer is a plus
Job Type:
- Remote or Hybrid Schedule available
- Part-time or Full-time is available (FT preferred)
- Monday to Friday
- Located in Pleasanton, CA or Fair Oaks, CA
4LEAF anticipates paying between $47.73 and $65.72 per hour for this position, commensurate with experience and depending upon the location at which the individual is hired to work.
