SUMMARY: The assistant cutting operator assists the lead in set up, adjustment and safe operation of all cutting equipment to prepare product to be packed, collated, or bound, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications, in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Assistant Cutter is also responsible for ensuring a safe and constant flow of accurately jogged and measured paper sheets from jogging stations to the cutting section.
Schedule(s):
2nd shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five or more days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This is an on-site position requiring the employee to be present physically. Training may occur at other times.
Salary Range: $13.50 To 14.50 Hourly
Compensation commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Weigh and jog paper in preparation for cutting
Maintain a constant flow of product to the cutting section cutters
Liaise and work closely with cutter operators with using good communication and judgment
Arrange incoming batches to ensure an efficient workflow
Maintain and update the cutting log
Change out and move waste product and recycle receptacles in the cutting areas
Support other co-workers as required3Use/wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required at all times
Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
Report workplace hazards to management immediately
Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Attend all department/company meetings
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalency
