Job Description
We're seeking our 2nd part time in- person permit coordinator at our office in Clearwater, FL.
As Permit Coordinator your primary responsibility is preparing and assembling all applications/documents required for Building Permit Submission, as well as the submission and application tracking/follow up. You will also be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks such as updating project statuses, file storage/management. You will primarily interface with the admin team, as well as clients and city/county building departments. If you have done permitting in the past in any of the 4 trades or with any of the municipalities, this job might be for you!
If you are a highly organized individual with 1-3 years permitting experience, construction administration, or a related role we encourage you to apply! This is a part time job that has room to turn into a full-time job within a small turn around time.
Tasks
Permitting:
- Gathering supporting documents (internally, and obtaining them from clients externally via software/email), completing applications and submitting them to local and state government agencies – typically building/construction permits.
- Frequently following up on submitted applications, and managing/communicating the timeline or estimated completion date, with the goal of getting all applications approved ASAP.
- Communicating with local governments to confirm research findings (e.g. - calling the jurisdiction to ensure the permitting process pertaining to a client’s project doesn’t involve any extra forms/fees that may not be listed online)
- Supporting the team with miscellaneous permits/filings, customer communications, administrative based project work or internal administrative tasks.
- Working with the team to ensure all systems are up-to-date, organized, and relaying the latest information relating to permit submission.
You are responsible for managing the process from initial request through final closeout
Request Receivals:
- Log and track all incoming permit requests.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients and office regarding their requests.
- Follow up on pending requests and provide updates to clients.
General Administrative Tasks:
- Organize and maintain digital files and records.
- Data Entry
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Assist with invoicing and payment processing.
- Provide general support to the management team as required.
- Sales for After the Fact permitting
- Meet inspectors for onsite inspections and report back to the office, the findings of the inspectors.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
