Major Responsibilities:
- Greets visitors, determines nature of visits and directs visitors to appropriate persons.
- Processes all incoming calls in a pleasant and proficient manner.
- Operates overhead and pocket pager paging systems, emergency hotlines and alarm devices.
- Provides directions and information to patients, visitors and hospital personnel.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Performs clerical duties such as word processing assignments, copying, filing and creating announcements.
- Monitors office supply inventory and requests needed inventory from purchasing. Receives inventory and ensures the proper stocking, placement and security of received items.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated ability to operate basic office equipment and the ability to organize multiple tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate using the internet (i.e. Lotus Notes or a similar program).
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to obtain transportation to attend to the daily schedule and other agency business in a timely manner.
- Must be capable of the manual dexterity required to use and operate a computer, telephone, copy machine, writing implements and other varied office equipment.
- Must have the physical stamina to move about in confined spaces and to attend to the essential functions of the position over a period of three or more hours without complete rest.
- Will be required to sit a greater portion of each workday and stand, walk, squat, and bend at various times throughout the day.
- May be responsible to move, lift or support up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to concentrate on minute detail with occasional interruptions and remember multiple tasks and functions over a period that extends from minutes to hours and frequently weeks at a time.
- Must be able to speak clearly and hear to communicate with people in person or over the telephone.
- Must have accurate vision to read department paperwork and computer screens.
- Subject to temperature fluctuations during occasional agency travel.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals is rare.
