Job Title: Process Technician – Plastic Injection Molding
Location: Longmont, CO
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 am - 3:30pm/ Mon - Fri)
3rd Shift (11:00pm - 7:30am / Mon-Fri)
Pay: $20 - $30 (DOE)
Position Overview: Plastics Injection Molding Company located in Longmont, CO is currently seeking an experienced Process Technician to join their team. This position is integral to the operation and optimization of injection molding processes, ensuring high-quality production standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in injection molding and a strong aptitude for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend shift change meetings and provide detailed updates on production activities and upcoming priorities.
- Develop, document, and optimize injection molding and secondary machine processes.
- Complete daily production reports detailing tasks, machine performance, and key metrics.
- Train and support Set-Up Technicians to ensure smooth operations and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with Quality, Tooling, and Account Management teams on molding processes and part qualifications.
- Continuously improve processes by analyzing machine data and reviewing current setups for optimization.
- Expand knowledge of materials and their impact on the molding process.
- Oversee daily machine start-ups, ensuring equipment readiness and operational efficiency.
- Provide backup support for Set-Up Technicians in the event of absence or unavailability.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Process Technician in plastic injection molding.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret machine data and optimize setups.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (bilingual candidates are a plus).
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Initiative-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 100 lbs when necessary.
Required Skills:
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, such as exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations, to solve technical problems.
- Strong reasoning skills with the ability to analyze data, define problems, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions, including those presented in mathematical or diagram form.
Physical Demands:
- The position requires frequent use of hands and arms to manipulate machinery and tools.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 100 lbs.
