WHAT DOES A PROCESSING OPERATOR DO?

  • Perform all necessary processing activities to ensure we meet our customer's needs in a timely and efficient manner. This will be achieved through receiving bulk liquids, batching, filtering, adjusting products, supplying liquids to the production hall, operating reverse osmosis units to produce demineralized water and sending out waste effluent discharge.

  • Safety is our top priority, all operators are expected to work in a safe manner and look out for one another.

  • You will also be responsible for following GMPs, maintaining a clean work area, be active in our 5S program, and have the opportunity to learn and work on continuous improvement within the processing department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

  • Comply with all established safety rules and regulations. Work in a safe manner and look out for your co-worker’s safety.

  • Ensure all safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP) are accurately followed and documented

  • Actively participates and is engaged in safety initiatives, problem solving, Lean, Self-Directed Teams, continuous improvement and line efficiencies.

  • Responsible for maintaining quality product standards as established by Bacardi Bottling Corporation, and all products produced under the trademark.

  • Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP), International Standardization Organization (ISO) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Chemical Hygiene, as implemented.

  • Connect hoses to incoming tankers to unload bulk rum and rum ingredients.

  • Operate equipment to transfer, filter, sample, and batch product and product ingredients in preparation for transfer to bottling operations.

  • Responsible for utilizing necessary equipment and practices and complying with Confined Space Entry training when performing duties in tanks, pits, towers, etc.

  • Must possess the physical capabilities to enter and exit a 15” x 20” oval manhole opening.

  • Ability to work and communicate with outside contractors both inside and outside the facility in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Perform preventative maintenance to include cleaning of spirits processing equipment, maintaining supplies, and perform inspection on processing equipment for all spirits products.

  • Operate reverse osmosis (RO) water demineralization units.

  • Adjust products to specifications, including calculating adjustment required based on product analysis

  • Perform Clean in Place (CIP) sanitation.

  • Ensure constant product supply to bottling plant.

  • Must be able to safely handle corrosive chemicals.

  • Must be able to work at elevated heights.

  • Must be able to work any shift and/or overtime as required

  • Actively participates with development and compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM).

  • Perform functions associate with changeovers and autonomous maintenance on equipment

  • Participate in Lean project activities to improve overall plant performance

  • Perform housekeeping activities as required

  • Other activities to support the Processing department

  • Forklift operating experience desired
