5th Axis is currently seeking a Programmer to join its team! As a Programmer you will be responsible for developing and optimizing programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machinery, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with shop personnel and engineers to create NC programs, troubleshoot issues, and enhance machining performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through technology, data analysis, and teamwork.
What You Will Do:
5th Axis is currently seeking a Programmer to join its team! As a Programmer you will be responsible for developing and optimizing programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machinery, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with shop personnel and engineers to create NC programs, troubleshoot issues, and enhance machining performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through technology, data analysis, and teamwork.
What You Will Do:
- Perform setups on 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.
- Create and optimize CNC programs from customer models and technical drawings.
- Select and optimize cutting tools and toolpaths for maximum efficiency.
- Develop and maintain detailed setup sheet documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues in a shop environment.
- Drive continuous improvement through analysis, collaboration, and innovation.
- Stay current with advancements in machining and programming technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Do you have:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 10 years of machinist experience, including 2 years in programming-related roles.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or CAM software (e.g., MasterCAM).
- Strong understanding of blueprints, sketches, drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Commitment to great attendance and a positive, adaptable attitude.
- Hypermill experience is a plus.
