Location 680 Lake Shore Drive Job Description Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst Sr will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions and enhance business outcomes. This position requires advanced analytical skills to analyze complex data sets, generate actionable insights, and collaborate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders, healthcare providers, researchers, application analysts, and IT teams. The Business Intelligence Analyst Sr will oversee the collection, documentation, and translation of workflows and requirements into innovative products and features, acting as a vital link between business requests and technical deliverables. Will need a deep understanding of clinical and operational processes, as well as experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and other transactional information systems. The Business Intelligence Analyst Sr will take ownership of project deliverables, ensure effective risk communication, and facilitate knowledge transfer to stakeholders when new products and features are released. Essential Job Functions: Provide exemplary support to health system stakeholders and product teammates through proactive communication, independent issue resolution, and facilitation of collaboration between technical and subject matter experts. Mentors and guides Business Intelligence Analysts and other team members, actively fostering their professional growth and development. Lead the collection of user requirements from business users through interviews, visioning sessions, and direct observation of user workflows. Engage in and lead creative problem-solving efforts related to product and feature strengths and limitations, tradeoffs, costs, and alternative solutions. Collaborate closely with product users and product development teams to ensure transparent communication and mutual understanding of requirements, obstacles, and technical solutions. Translate user requirements into clear, concise language, accompanied by in-depth informatics details that will facilitate the custom coding tasks assigned to Data Analyst. Develop and maintain thorough documentation related to scope, workflows, informatics details, and user requirements for products. Oversee testing and lead the orientation process for product users and the development team regarding newly released features and products. Adhere to HIPAA and Institutional Review Board regulations for privacy, transactions, security, and confidentiality; follow procedures to ensure data release restrictions related to service area and/or IRB approved elements are maintained. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Clinical Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, or Sciences, Health Information Management, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Epic Certification in Cogito or other Epic modules is desired but not required. Minimum of 6 years of experience working in a business analysis, healthcare, information technology or data analytics role, with customer-facing responsibilities, is required. Professional certification in agile methodologies and planning tools (e.g., Jira) is preferred. Demonstrated experience working on a team developing, implementing and maintaining software or other IT solutions is required. Ability to write clear and concise technical memos, report sections, and product-related documentation. Ability to verbally describe technical requirements, issues and solutions to a non-technical audience. Proficiency in Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, including SSRS and Power BI, or equivalent is preferred. Education Pay Range $83,200.00-$137,280.00 Salary At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
