Clinical Data Scientist

The Position The Clinical Data Scientist is a member of the Data Management, Biostatistics and Data Science department. The Data Scientist would be a key contributor in the support of R&D and Clinical Operations activities through programming and project management. Collaboration and coordination of activities with study teams is prioritized. Networking and negotiation is required with senior internal and external personnel as well as some key contacts outside area of expertise including R&D, IT, Software Engineering, Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Operations. The role requires a seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience to manage diverse and often times complex issues, where analysis may require in-depth evaluation of data quality. Data Scientist will exercise judgment in evaluating methods and may determine criteria for obtaining solutions. And may coordinate the activities of other employees. In addition, will network with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise as well as some key contacts outside area of expertise. Responsibilities: Programming activities around data checks, analysis data sets creation Data Management and Data Standards and Governance support for clinical operations and study analytics Clinical programming and electronic case report form (eCRF) configuration IT project support/Data Engineering for Data Management/Biostatistics group and standard related updates Digital solutions development for end-to-end data handling; Data Standardization, Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM) and Analysis Data Model (ADAM) Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics or equivalent field; Master's degree in Statistics/Health Data Science or other science/engineering preferred 2 years' commercial/industry experience working in a hands-on capacity as a data scientist Experience with clinical trial management or medical documentation or bioinformatics or informatics or biostatistics with a strong background in natural sciences is preferred 2 years experience with R or SAS statistical programming, databases (clinical studies, SQL), clinical programming, process and project documentation, international teamwork and communication is preferred High level: clinical databases, GxP, FDA regulations, DCC, English language, clinical information management in R&D is preferred Medium level: statistical programming and knowledge (including R, SAS, SQL and Tableau/SPSS) and clinical programming, data analytics, project management; fundamentals: medical terminology is preferred The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis IN is $96,300.00--$178,900.00 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
