Part-Time Bookkeeper
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team and support the financial operations.
Position Overview:
As a Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position offers flexible hours and is ideal for individuals seeking part-time employment while providing valuable support to our finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Record financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Generate and send invoices to clients/customers and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including verifying invoices, expense reports, and receipts.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with payroll processing, including calculating employee hours, preparing paychecks, and ensuring payroll taxes are filed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
- Provide support to the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a small to medium-sized business or nonprofit organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
- High degree of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
- Associate degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
