Job Title: Tool Calibration Manager
Job Summary:
The Tool Calibration Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper calibration, maintenance, and tracking of all tools and test equipment across the company. This role involves working closely with vendors, managing inventory, and collaborating with various departments to maintain a steady flow of calibrated equipment into the field. The Tool Calibration Manager will collaborate with warehouse personnel, establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure compliance with industry standards. Additionally, this role will involve working closely with field engineers to ensure compliance in using properly calibrated tools for medical device repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure compliance and accuracy, oversee the calibration and maintenance of all company tools and test equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule timely calibrations, repairs, and replacements.
- Implement and maintain an effective tracking system for company equipment to ensure availability and smooth deployment.
- Monitor upcoming calibration requirements and manage inventory to ensure adequate stock for backfilling.
- Issue standard tools and test equipment to new hires, ensuring they are properly equipped.
- Reclaim tools from terminated employees, managing redistribution or reintegration into inventory.
- Maintain oversight of tool and test equipment inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and organization.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tool calibration and inventory management.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient tool handling and maintenance.
- Work closely with field engineers to ensure adherence to compliance standards when using calibrated tools for medical device repairs.
- Travel as needed to support calibration efforts, audits, or equipment tracking across various locations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of calibration principles, industry standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in tool calibration, inventory management, or equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of calibration standards, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Experience in vendor management and procurement.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing a team.
- Ability to develop and implement SOPs effectively.
- Proficiency in inventory tracking and management software.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
