As an acquisition management professional, you know that both sides of the acquisition and contracts lifecycle are pivotal to your clients’ missions. As a Defense Acquisition Specialist at Booz Allen, you’ll work closely with our defense clients in support of the warfighter, aiding in the acquisition of all they need for optimal end strength and ensuring that their mission is our mission. This is an opportunity to impact our country’s defense acquisition and contract process.

On our team, you’ll provide acquisition expertise regarding all statutory, regulatory, and policy updates impacting each project’s success. From creating and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders to obtaining concurrence, you’ll deliver meaningful acquisition support.

You Have: 

  • 3 years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System as a project manager, action officer, or policy or program analyst

  • Experience in an acquisition program office, Program Executive Office, or DoD acquisition office

  • Experience drafting or reviewing defense acquisition documents such as Milestone Decision Review briefs, Acquisition Decision Memorandum (ADMs), Acquisition Strategies, and Acquisition Program Baseline (APBs) 

  • Knowledge of defense acquisition policies, including DoD 5000 series acquisition policy issuances

  • Knowledge of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF), ACAT, BCAT, SCAT thresholds, and alternative acquisition processes

  • Knowledge of program management, including DoD scheduling and risk management practices

  • Ability to logically adjudicate competing interests and inputs and provide concise rationale and recommendations

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience drafting or reviewing DoD issuances, such as DoD Directives, Instructions, and Manuals, or DoD memoranda

  • Knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process and associated documentation

  • Knowledge of the defense Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process

  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

  • Ability to self-start and multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master’s degree

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $51,600.00 to $106,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
