Defense Operations Research Analyst

The Opportunity:

Acting as an Operations Research Analyst on our team, you’ll apply your expertise to advise and assist our Department of Defense client. You’ll support a team furthering the client’s Science & Technology (S&T) Information Sciences objectives across the CBRN threat spectrum and in countering proliferation and improvised threat networks. You will contribute to a portfolio of programs developing software tools for Support to Command and Control (CSC2) and other defense applications. In this role, you will advise and assist with the monitoring and execution of projects, including the development and review of Statements of Work (SOW) cost proposals, monthly reports, quad charts, and financial reports. 

Additionally, you’ll assist in determining how to best model key indicators, combinations of indicators, and sensing modalities to reduce false alarms from detection systems and predict the likelihood of threat exposure. Additionally, you’ll help develop and apply models to resolve problems and clarify alternative solutions. You’ll support efforts to improve “game-changing” technologies like the DoD’s Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) to support the complex communication and coordination needs of first responders, providing them with situational awareness and the ability to react in real time.

You Have:  

• 5 years of experience in an engineering or scientific function

• Experience with CBRN modeling and simulation software and data analysis programs

• Experience with performing studies and preparing reports, documentation, and correspondence to clearly communicate recommendations and conclusions

• Experience with preparing analyses and documentation to support deliberations and to include consideration of all alternative approaches

• Experience with designing, planning, and conducting assessments of current processes, projects, and portfolios to help guide vision and strategy for investments

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Research

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience with military chem-bio response and the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) system

• Experience analyzing data to produce reports and recommendations on improving processes efficiency

• Experience providing subject management expertise to DoD clients 

• Knowledge of CBRN Modeling and Simulation approaches and concepts

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
