Quality Manager
6K Additive, a division of 6K, Inc.,- located in Burgettstown, PA utilizes a proprietary plasma process in the production of high performance metal powders for Additive Manufacturing.
6K’s UniMelt™ plasma technology enables customers to tailor powders to their specifications, in order to meet advanced product requirements in demanding end markets.
Our company is looking for a hands-on Quality Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product quality and quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
The position will be based at our Burgettstown, PA facility and will report directly the 6K Additive Director of Technology.
Responsibilities:
The Quality Manager will be responsible for product quality and quality systems for all 6K Additive value streams.
- Manage and maintain current ISO quality system.
- Daily support of Operations, Technical, and Commercial.
- Direct the resolution of process or product quality issues.
- Lead adherence to quality systems for new products and processes.
- Develop and execute testing plans for product quality.
- Drive continuous improvement through quality systems requirements such as audits.
- Provide key input on specification review and acceptance.
- Lead 6K Additive’s efforts to attain AS9100 and ISO13485 certification.
- Develop and maintain cost of poor-quality database.
- Initiate improvement projects to advance key metrics such as quality, yield, cost, and throughput.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in science or engineering or a related discipline.
- Direct experience with ISO/AS standards and systems.
- Experience with quality system surveillance and accreditation audits.
- Working knowledge of metal processes and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in fast pace environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in quality related functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong preference for candidate having experience in metal powder manufacturing for additive manufacturing.
