About these Opportunities: 7-Eleven Inc. has several opportunities for Summer Internships. Each internship opportunity will occur during the summer months, (10-12 weeks), focused on a specific functional area, and will provide the candidate with a depth experience within the area, culminating in a project presentation to functional leaders. Each intern will work closely with a coach who will meet regularly to discuss project progress, provide direction and ongoing feedback. In addition, each intern will attend a lunch series which will provide a cross-functional view into the organization and give the interns exposure to senior leadership. The interns will also have the experience of touring a store and learning about our distribution systems.
You will be joining a multidisciplinary team of product managers, marketers, designers and engineers who research and innovate on the latest technology to create awesome digital products that millions of people will experience every day.
You will be responsible for prototyping machine learning algorithms and computer vision systems that improve customer experience, enable innovative user experiences, and increase store revenue. Engineers at 7Next have solid technical background but enjoy learning new languages, technologies, and frameworks. From creating an experimental machine learning prototype to deploying a production-ready backend, engineers at 7Next take many hats to see projects to completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Research, prototype, and develop software solutions to solve problems across retail
- Stay up to date with emerging technology and learn new technologies/libraries/frameworks
- Learn and partner with peers across multiple disciplines, such as computer vision, machine learning, and systems design
- Deliver on time with a high bar on quality of research, innovation and engineering
- Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering/Math
- Experience in deep learning in at least one machine learning framework (TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, Caffe, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of advanced mathematics, image/video processing, computer vision, and AI/machine learning theories
- Hands-on experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, SOD or equivalent library)
- Courses in software engineering
