As an individual contributor, this position focuses on supporting the Accounts Payable Team through data mining and analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of internal reports, management of rent and landing fee payments, and other assigned duties.
The Accounts Payable Analyst I is responsible for processing payments and resolving issues, while ensuring adherence to company policies and controls.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Support general ledger accounting functions.
- Prepare, organize, and input monthly journal entries for various transactions in alignment with departmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and perform monthly account balance fluctuation analyses.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams on statement audits, investigate payment discrepancies, and coordinate necessary corrections.
- Assist the management team by analyzing problems and proposing solutions based on knowledge and experience.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and reporting as required.
- Identify and contribute to initiatives aimed at process improvement.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate billing rates and timely payments, particularly regarding ports and leases.
- Support accounting specialists with inquiries and training needs. **Job-Specific Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements:**
- A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, or business administration, or a minimum of two years of experience in accounting or a related field in lieu of a degree.
