Position Overview:
The Legal Billing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s billing operations, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of client invoices while adhering to client guidelines. This is an in-office role that involves regular interaction with attorneys and clients, requiring exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit client invoices via email or electronic billing platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Review and edit client time entries to ensure proper spelling, grammar, and adherence to client-specific requirements.
Resolve invoice-related issues such as rejections, appeals, and short payments.
Maintain organized billing files and provide detailed reports to clients and firm management.
Collaborate with the accounting team to process payments, manage accounts receivable, and support financial reporting.
Assist in the collection process for overdue accounts by communicating with clients and implementing follow-up procedures.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field preferred. Alternatively, at least five years of legal billing experience or equivalent education and experience.
Skills: Proficiency in legal billing software, Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills), and strong analytical abilities.
Natural ability for noting inconsistencies or pinpointing errors in documents, especially with numbers while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple billing tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service orientation, with interpersonal skills to effectively address client inquiries and foster positive client relationships.
