This position is a lead position. The Extraction Tech III is responsible for performing tasks independently and directing the work of others in the manufacturing lab where the company produces marijuana concentrates. The lab is muti-faceted environment, and the Lead Extraction Technician will handle a multitude of tasks including: the operation and maintenance of extraction equipment, production of marijuana concentrates, refinement of marijuana concentrates, organizing and orienting Extraction Technician team members, and engaging in Research and Development, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carries out routine tasks accurately and strictly following SOP’s.
- Follows and ensures strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Directs and assists the Extraction Technicians in the performance of specific extraction related duties. This includes checking the quality of the Technician's work to ensure that minimum standards are maintained.
- Coordinates with Extraction Supervisors and Manager to select biomass and schedule extraction duties to meet and exceed production goals.
- Physically prepares, operates, and maintains extraction equipment.
- Collections and refines of marijuana-derived concentrates.
- Adheres to detailed extraction parameters, interprets extraction data, and recommends adjustments to parameters as necessary.
- Maintains rigorous logs within their extraction area, detailing extraction parameters, results, equipment maintenance, and cleaning tasks, among other things. Checking these logs to ensure that these tasks are being performed, and their results recorded, by the Extraction Technicians.
- Receives input from the Extraction Supervisors and Manager to plan and execute Research and Development tasks.
- Adheres to a cleaning schedule, ensuring that equipment, tools, and workspaces maintain a high level of cleanliness.
- Alerts Supervisors in the event of low inventory levels to ensure that the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; assisting in troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and informing Supervisors and Managers of necessary repairs.
- Keeps up to date with technical developments within the industry, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
- Engages in process improvement within the Extraction Lab and coordinating with superiors to implement improvements.
- Trains of Extraction Tech I and II positions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, engaging in industry events, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
