The Staff Accountant – Client Accounting Services role is a great opportunity for anyone passionate about accounting and is looking to step into a highly visible role with sophisticated clients. New hires will be an integral part of the Accounting Services group providing diversified administrative and day-to-day financial support to our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of professional services/client services and a flexibility to meet ad-hoc client requests as they will be acting as an Accounting Consultant to LBMC clients and their internal accounting departments.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Act as client consulting, providing quality customer service to all requests and responding to all inquiries in a timely manner
- Performing monthly reconciliations of client bank accounts and credit cards and assist with all financial statement preparations
- Oversee Quarterly and Annual payroll processing and payroll tax return processing
- Process year-end 1096/1099s and conduct appropriate reporting for 1099s
- Maintain General Ledgers and process Accounts Payable
- Sales tax and other local business tax reporting
- Providing accurate documentation in accordance with record retention policies and procedures
- Adheres to LBMC’s defined processes and procedures including the firm's policy on privacy and client confidentiality. Knows and follows the rules, regulations, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, the Tennessee Board of Public Accountancy, and other regulating bodies as appropriate.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's Degree, Accounting/Finance preferred or related degrees
- 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience (including payroll)
- Highly proficient with QuickBooks (Desktop & Online), the MS Office Suite, and Adobe
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment meeting time constraints and client deadlines
- High attention to detail, multi-tasker, problem solver & intellectually curious
- Ability to meet time constraints and client deadlines
