THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator (Consultant) will be responsible for supporting our recruitment efforts and ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process. As a growing organization, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive Talent Acquisition Coordinator who will support the Talent Acquisition team with day-to-day recruitment operations. Working closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, and candidates, the TA Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring a positive candidate experience and streamlining administrative tasks in the hiring process. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about supporting a mission-driven company in its growth.
This role is based in our San Francisco, California office and requires in-office attendance two (2) days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Recruitment Support: Provide administrative and operational support throughout the recruiting process, including scheduling interviews, managing candidate communications, and coordinating logistics for on-site visits and interviews.
- Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive, professional, and timely experience for all candidates from application to offer, including regular communication and feedback.
- Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Management: Maintain and update the company’s ATS with candidate information, interview feedback, and recruitment status updates.
- Coordination & Scheduling: Manage interview schedules, ensuring coordination with hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates. Handle any changes to interview schedules in a timely and effective manner.
- Offer & Onboarding Support: Assist with preparing offer letters and supporting the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they have a seamless and welcoming experience.
- Recruitment Metrics & Reporting: Track and report key recruiting metrics and progress, helping identify opportunities to improve recruitment efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with various Talent Acquisition-related projects, including employer branding initiatives, intern program, recruiting events, and process improvements.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a recruitment coordinator or administrative role, ideally within the biotech, life sciences, or healthcare industry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of professionalism when interacting with candidates and team members
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools is a plus
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Comfortable working in a growing, dynamic environment, with a willingness to pitch in and support the team where needed
- Passion for the biotech industry and excitement about contributing to a mission-driven organization
- Ability to work a full day in the downtown San Francisco office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
SALARY & LEVEL
89bio considers a range of factors when determining salary and level. These considerations mean actual salary and level may vary. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in Northern California is $90,640 – $103,000.
89bio’s role/level assessment approach involves assessing candidates during the interview process before confirming the level/title designation. The level assessment is considered on a case-by-case basis. Offer and level is based on factors such as: education, experience, qualifications, geographic location, transferable skills, licenses/certifications and other job-related factors permitted by law.
