8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. Responsibilities : Position Summary :
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for examination of product to ensure quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the QA Tech is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality policies, and identifying defects and / or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform equipment calibration
- Perform swab test
- Retain sample
- Collect microbial test sample
- Pre-op check
- Routine line check (labels, package, raw material, coding, sealing, metal detection)
- Perform lab test
- Review and verify operator check sheets to ensure accuracy of information
- Record filing
- Cover duties of other QA technicians in their absence
- Monitor implementation of GMP and quality related SOP(s) at production floor level; assist with staff training
- Segregate problematic product
- Assist in customer complaint investigation
- Report any food safety / quality issue and GMP non-conformance
- Monitor QA supply level and restock supply when needed.
- Take responsibility for own performance and complete work in a timely, consistent and accurate manner. Demonstrate reliability and time management through attendance, break times and other related duties.
- Perform other functions / activities as assigned from time to time.
