Job Title: Art Teacher (Part-Time, Contractor)

Location: 9th Muse Academy of Art, Downtown Ogden

Position Type: Part-Time Contractor (3-Month Term with Possibility of Permanent Hire)

Compensation:

• $40 per 1.5-hour class
• $80 per 3-hour class
• $8.00 per hour for retail shifts (4-6 hours per week)
• $10 per hour paid training (3 hours per week)

About Us

The 9th Muse Academy of Art provides fine art lessons for children 5 – 95. We are dedicated to creating a creative community for our students to grow their skills and accomplish their artistic goals. We believe that anyone can be an artist and strive to provide a fun, welcoming educational experience for all skill levels.

Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate and skilled Art Teachers to join our team. This part-time contractor position guarantees one class per week, with opportunities for additional classes based on performance. Art Teachers will follow and teach the Academy method and curriculum, with training and professional development provided. The role also requires a weekly retail shift to support studio operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach at least one art class per week using the Academy's established curriculum
• Participate in weekly paid training sessions to learn and master the Academy method (total 40 hours minimum)
• Work at least one retail shift (4-6 hours) per week assisting with customer service and studio maintenance
• Provide an engaging, supportive, and educational environment for students
• Collaborate with the Academy team to improve and adapt lesson delivery
• Maintain a clean and organized teaching space

Qualifications:

• Experience in 2D art (e.g., drawing, painting, illustration) preferred
• Willingness to learn and follow the Academy's teaching method
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs
• Passion for art education and a commitment to ongoing skill development

Schedule Requirements:

• Availability for at least one weekly class (1.5 to 3 hours)
• Commitment to one weekly retail shift (4-6 hours)
• Participation in weekly training sessions (paid)
