JOB SUMMARY
The Paralegal provides legal support, assists owners, prepares discovery, complaints and all related legal documents, including subpoenas, notices of motion; assists with investigation, research facts of cases and helps prepare cases for trial.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and manage corporate and business contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Provide legal support for human resources operations, including employment agreements, compliance, and policy updates.
Assist in maintaining corporate governance documents and records.
Conduct legal research and provide summaries on corporate and HR-related matters.
Collaborate with internal teams and external legal counsel as needed.
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Trial Works is a must
· Strong communication skills; needs to be able to communicate with difficult clients and provide case status while managing expectations; maintains a professional demeanor when speaking to clients
· Strong grammar and writing skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
· Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
· Ability to meet deadlines and perform assigned tasks with little/no supervision; self-motivated to push through deadlines; prioritizes and works under a tight schedule
· Assists in the preparation of discovery, complaints and other legal documents
· Ability to answer written discovery with little assistance
· Knows the litigation process; understands when to answer affirmative defenses, propound discovery, answer discovery
· Prepares and works-up file to send to adjuster for potential settlement; gathers and reviews all relevant materials, identifies weaknesses; collaborates with attorney
· Diligently follows up with attorney for further instructions to settle case; confirms tasks are completed; reminds attorney to call adjuster, coordinates with attorney regarding other steps needed to resolve matter, e.g., more depositions, obtain additional records, expert reports, etc.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
· Experience in Paralegal experience
· Experience reviewing, summarizing and ordering medical records
· Experience drafting demand letters, mediation memorandums and routine motions
