We’re looking for an experienced Service Area Manager to lead our dynamic team in the Central Service Area (Grand Island, Hastings, and Kearney). In this role, you'll oversee a team of professionals providing essential family services in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services, Child and Family Services division, and Probation Administration. Your leadership will help ensure the safety and well-being of families, while empowering your team to achieve the goal of family reunification and prevention of abuse/neglect.
This role is HYBRID: Some in-office and some remote work.
Office will be located in Kearney, NE and manager will need to be in the office 3-4 days a week.
What You'll Do
- Lead and Develop a Team: Manage and coach a team of service providers, supporting their professional growth and ensuring they meet performance goals.
- Ensure Quality Service Delivery: Oversee the implementation of family services, ensuring adherence to case plans from the Department of Health and Human Services, Child and Family Services, and Probation.
- Build Strong Relationships: Foster positive connections with staff, families, and key stakeholders (DHHS/Probation) to support family reunification and prevent abuse and neglect.
- Monitor Documentation and Compliance: Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation is completed according to program guidelines.
- Drive Operational Success: Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the Central Service Area office, ensuring the team is working effectively and meeting organizational goals.
What We're Looking For
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, coach, and support a team to achieve their goals.
- Experience in Child Welfare: Prior experience in child welfare or human services (minimum 4 years if no degree).
- Education: Preferred Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field (Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, etc.), or relevant experience.
- Clear Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team management and documentation review.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a structured approach to operations.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and valid insurance to travel for work-related tasks.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
- Background Check: Must have a clear criminal history, abuse/neglect registry check, and driving record with no more than three points.
