Position : Dental Assistant for Wesley Chapel and Tampa locations
Reports To : Office Manager / Dentist
Position Description : Dental assistants are responsible for providing the patient with high quality care by performing a variety of office, laboratory, and patient care duties. This usually entails helping the dentist and hygienist handle patients, instruments, and supplies during the treatment of the teeth, mouth, and gums. Dental assistants also document patient care and take x-rays.

Responsibilities for Dental Assistant :
Welcome patients and get them situated in the appropriate treatment roomTake and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medication historyAssist dentist and hygienist by handling supplies and instruments as requestedPrepare tables and trays for dentist with necessary instruments and suppliesClean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms as neededTake, expose, and mount high quality dental radiographsPerform patient charting as instructed by the dentistWorking knowledge of dental procedure codes and inter-dependenciesEnsure appropriate supply of equipment and materialsAssist in end of day office closing activitiesEnsure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards and requirements in all interactionsBe a Team Player and assist team members as neededPerform all duties with utmost honesty, integrity and humilityMay require travel to second location of the office in Wesley Chapel on occasional basisQualifications for Dental Assistant :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredLicensed as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF) in FloridaCurrent CPR certification requiredRadiology certification required2-3 years of experience as an RDAExperience with Dentrix is preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelinesPossess a professional and positive attitudeSkills : General Practice

19-$23 / hour
