Bridal Seamstress

We are seeking a skilled, yet trainable and detail-oriented Assistant Seamstress to join our team in the San Antonio area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in alterations and sewing. *Must have sewing experience, Bridal Sewing or similar field required*

This position requires proficiency in using industrial sewing machines and a keen eye for detail to ensure that all finished products meet our quality standards. Looking for 2 years of experience in alterations or sewing in a similar field who can be trained. Someone who is interested in Design who likes to sketch would be a plus too as we create custom dresses as well.

Duties

• Our Assistant Bridal Seamstress is responsible for completing all sewing services necessary to properly alter our bride’s gowns
• Experience in Sewing, Trainable and open to learning new techniques
• Can help assist our custom dress designer with design details on custom orders
• Must perform alterations with an eye toward quality and neatness
• Perform all alterations to the approval of our Alterations Supervisor
• Follow quality control guidelines established by Alterations Supervisor
• Inspect all gowns to verify pristine condition before final delivery
• Able to think on the spot in tough decisions and work with a variety of personality types.
• Able to work with fine fabrics, specialty fabrics, laces and intricate beading
• Strong understanding of garment construction and fit
• Able to work to specific deadlines set forth by our supervisor
• Ability to work as a team player as you will be working closely with a team of seamstresses and designers
• Ability to work on a Industrial Sewing Machine
• Flexibility to work some Saturdays, if needed.
• Manual skill to sew and perform fittings with clients
• Ability to move, lift up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, stand, and reach with arms
• Ability to start and finish projects independently or with minimal supervision
• Hiring for Part time as needed for busier seasons like fall, or Full-time role available.
• Schedule will mostly be 9:00am to 5:30 pm, Saturdays if needed
• Flexibility in job duties and tasks. We are a small business so other aspects of the day to day may come up.
• No Degree required, Experience needed.
• This position will be ONSITE, remote not available.

Requirements

• Proven experience in garment construction and sewing techniques.
• Proficiency in operating sewing machines and other related equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow patterns accurately.
• Ability to work effectively in a casual setting, adhering to safety protocols.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A passion for fashion and an understanding of current trends is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 35 per week
