SUMMARY
Solicits transportation services or storage business from homeowners (consumers) and business establishments and provides estimates for packing, crating, moving, and storage costs by performing the following duties. This includes interstate; intrastate; local relocations; and storage transactions, limited to the movement and storage of used household goods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists and aids the Company in the prompt and efficient handling of the business of the Company.
- Writes orders for the Company’s services within the territory authorized to be served by the Company. All such orders shall be written in strict compliance with established tariffs, other defined applicable pricing schedules, and in accordance with Company rules, regulations, and instructions.
- Prepares the necessary forms in connection with the requested services, such as survey data, declarations, orders for service, bills of lading, etc., and enters such data into the administrative systems of the Company.
- Creates a solid base of self-generated leads to supplement company provided leads. Lead sources should include but are not limited to business networks, real estate agencies, trade organizations, friends and family members. Foster long-term relationships for repeat business.
- Assists in the identification and collection of prospective customer list, answers customer inquiries for services, provides customer support services on the phone for registered customer moves, and assists with the resolution of customer issues and complaints.
- Listens actively to customers’ requirements, concerns and preferences and develop a solution to meet the needs of the customer as it relates to their relocation.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance the moving experience (e.g., premium packing, unpacking, temporary storage, remove flat panel tv from walls, etc.) upselling additional services where needed.
- Examines goods to be moved or stored, estimates cubic fee of storage or shipping space required, and prepares a proposal for the price of packing, crating, moving, shipping, and delivering household goods, machinery, or other material.
- Keeps accurate and detailed records of actions taken and maintains detailed records in the company’s CRM
- Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint AT Beginner Level (Intermediate Level or higher preferred).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
