What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at A Gift for Music?
Job Title: Program Coordinator, A Gift for Music (Part-time, 24-29 hours per week)
Supervisor: Director, A Gift for Music
The overall responsibility of this position is to support the A Gift for Music (AGFM) program under the supervision of the AGFM Director. These efforts will ensure program operations run smoothly and the needs of schools, students, staff and community are met.
This position will also interface across the A Gift for Teaching organization with other departments. Major duties include:
Staff Management
- Serve as first point of contact for instructors when last minute subs are needed
- Assist instructors with coordinating training materials, classroom supplies, instruments etc.
- Work with instructors and serve as sub as needed
- Coordinate staff videos for program Director’s review
Operations Management
- Coordinate & maintain instrument inventory, including repairs
- Oversee student instrument loan program
- Weekly attendance of Saturday Strings orchestra program
- Assist with concert scheduling and staffing
Information Management
- Maintain school data files
- Coordinate website updates with Director
- E-newsletter quarterly to community and to parents
- Create and maintain social media calendar, scheduling 3 posts were week
Project Management
- Help plan and execute orchestra concerts (December and May)
- Help plan and execute summer camp
Skills Required:
- Knowledge and experience in string music
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Canva
- Excellent writing and creative skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Must be energetic, interested in working with students
Background:
Candidates must have an overall knowledge of string music; could be a minor or major in music or simply have music training (recent experience).
Candidates must also be comfortable addressing large audiences and working with a myriad of people - principals, teachers, students, parents, community members and AGFM staff.
